Want Bigger Arms – Then Don’t Train Biceps!

Today I’m writing to give you a great tip which will really improve the look of your upper torso, and arms. If you asked people the two most desired things they wanted from going to the gym, it would probably be a broad, bulging chest, and thick arms. What is one of the most common mistakes people make in their pursuit for thick arms?

Working out their biceps. Now it may sound silly, but people focus too much on making their biceps stand out (maybe working it out 2 – 3 times a week!), but this is not what is needed to make your arms bigger and more appealing.

The make up of arms

Your upper arms consist of two main muscle groups, the biceps and the triceps. The most important thing to take from this article is that triceps make up two thirds of your upper arm muscles. That means that all the time spent on biceps is in vein, as spending the same time on your triceps will give you twice as good results (as triceps are twice as big as biceps).

I can admit that I used to ignore triceps to an extent, only doing 1 or 2 exercises for them per week, while doing 4-5 exercises for my biceps. Trust me, if this is you, you really need to start focusing more on your triceps, trying to develop them to get a good size. They will increase the look of your arm tenfold.

Thanks for reading, I hope you found this tip useful if you didn’t know it before. If you’re stuck for tricep exercises head over to the full tricep exercise page.
